Selzer Article
Selzer provides a very detailed report of the writing practices of Nelson. Selzer goes into great detail about the procedures, results, and techniques of the style of Nelson's writing. It is because of this detail that I know that Selzer took a great amount of time studying and consulting with Nelson. He followed a strict set of procedures himself in order to document Nelson putting together a project, and Selzer reports this in his Procedures section of his report. Selzer first describes the steps that he took in studying Nelson. Once the procedure was established, he continued to break down the results in detail of Nelson's procedures. Selzer is able to explain the many ways in which Nelson puts together a document, from extensive phone conversations, to formal and informal chats with coworkers, to a vast knowledge and memory of past documents. It is this detail that demonstrates Selzer's extensive and careful observations of Nelson's practices when putting together a document.
